When I first read aboout this event of 1914, staged at the Arizona State Fair, I had to paint it. Based on a race for the “Fastest Man on Earth” , it featured the great Lincoln Beachey flying the Curtiss “pusher”, Barney Oldfield sporting his 300 horsepower Christie, and the winner Don Johns on the bike.
