Censored 1933
At first when I saw this photograph, I was taken aback by the striking nature of it’s content. I couldn’t believe the racy swimsuit fashions and the casual demeanor of the models. It was selected from the Harley-Davidson archives as part of a series of photographs commissioned by the Motor Co. Originally shot on Milwaukee’s beachfront bordering Lake Michigan, I took some artistic license and put a Daytona surf in the background. Even though it wasn’t used it sure made for a fun painting.
