Racing was an integral component in the history of Harley-Davidson. Most vintage motorcycling imagery is riddled with these racing themes. I am particularly fond of the earliest of these, the board track and the hill climb events.
Many paintings about racing tend to become about movement and the loss of edges. However, I have managed to find some other interesting sub-themes to elaborate on. Among them, the culture and interactions that occur in and around these type of events.
